About This Spot

Stepping into Maimoke Restaurant is like entering a quiet sanctuary tucked away near the border of Tha Pru Wittaya. The traditional wooden architecture and thoughtfully arranged seating areas, especially those alongside a tranquil pond, invite visitors to slow down and savor the moment. Here, the rhythm eases into something gentler, where the hum of conversation blends with the subtle sounds of water and nature, crafting a peaceful backdrop for any meal.

This is a place where the warmth of genuine hospitality meets the charm of authentic Thai culinary heritage. The space feels intimate yet open, offering both lively shared tables and cozy corners that invite quiet reflection. Evening light softens the surroundings, casting gentle shadows and giving the restaurant a mood that feels both timeless and quietly vibrant.

Dining at Maimoke is an exploration of familiar flavors presented with care and tradition. Rather than overwhelming the guest with choice, the menu is a curated journey through regional specialties — dishes that echo stories of land and sea, season and family. Whether it’s the comforting spice of a tom yam soup brimming with fresh seafood or the delicate balance of a pineapple fried rice, each bite is a quiet celebration of local ingredients and skill, served with thoughtful attentiveness and calm.

The thoughtful design of Maimoke’s spaces makes it a rare kind of experience: one that encourages connection, both with the food and the company seated at the same table. It’s a memorable stop for those passing through, a place that stays quietly present in the mind long after the meal has ended — a pause in the journey that feels like a gentle invitation to return.

On the way back, we decided to have dinner before crossing the border. This place isn’t easy to spot, but it’s worth the find. The traditional-style buildings and interiors give it a unique charm, especially at night, it’s probably a whole different vibe during the day. The menu is extensive, offering a wide range of authentic Thai dishes, and the flavors are exceptional. Service is attentive and friendly too. There are several dining areas to choose from, some indoors, some outdoors, making it a great spot whether you want a cozy meal or an open-air experience.

Very traditional design restaurant. There are many different seating area. The best is by the pond. Staff is helpful & friendly. Pineapple fried rice & vege was ok. Prawn fritters slightly salty but quite good. Staff recommended the fried tauhu with sesame seeds, taste slightly bland but strong sesame smell, which I like.

Maimoke is a true gem. It successfully marries a truly rich and authentic taste with an absolutely beautiful aesthetic. Highly recommended for a memorable lunch or dinner. Me and my family started and ended our thailand road trip with this specific restaurant

The place is located near the border which makes it a very good place for dine in before leaving. There’s a parking area in front of the restaurant. The environment here is superb. Once entered, feels like entering into a different dimension, very peaceful atmosphere and serene. This place is very instagammable, every spot in this restaurant can create a nice photo. Their food and drinks were amazing. Can’t forget about the donut slushie I’ve ordered. So chilling and so good! Price of the food is slightly higher compared what you can get in town but the portion is pretty decent, give the ambiance and dining experience, it is worth to try.

The restaurant features a traditional design with a garden-inspired natural theme. It offers multiple seating areas, each with a different view, and you can choose between indoor or outdoor dining. The food is overall delicious; however, I found the Tom Yam soup slightly too sour for my taste. I usually enjoy Tom Yam, but the strong acidity made it difficult to drink more. A slightly milder version would be perfect. Still, it’s a place worth recommending. Before leaving, I also tried the roti canai from a small stall outside the restaurant, and it was surprisingly good.

Convenient place for lunch, about 20 minutes by car after crossing the Sadao border, and easy parking is available outside the restaurant. Recommended by members of our road trip communities. One of the most enjoyable meals of our trip, probably because we were hungry, along with the excitement of just entering Thailand. THB1,005 for 3 pax.

On Wednesday my group of friends went to have lunch at this special authentic Thai Restaurant in Sadao in SONGKHLA province in Thailand. I was amazed by the exotic Thai architecture of the whole restaurant. Despite the slight drizzle, our spirits were not the least dampened by the beauty of the whole place. It’s such a huge place with many rooms for their diners. Once we entered the restaurant, we could get the fragrance of the Thai food which was being served to the other diners at their tables. We looked through the menu n ordered a variety of authentic Thai dishes. We ordered seafood tomyam, a deep fried fish, a kerabu vegetable, 2 types of stir fry vegetables, fried chicken n fried taufu. The food was really delicious n the tomyam was just yummy cos it was not that spicy. The price of the whole dinner for a total of 16 of us was quite reasonable. We enjoyed our first authentic Thai food in Thailand . After our meal, we toured round the grounds of the restaurant . There were so many different dining rooms . There was even a small pond in the compound . The whole place was beautifully landscaped with many statues n birds as well. There were many old grinding equipment for pounding chillies n other Thai spices being exhibited there. A very good place for a family or friends to gather for an authentic meal.
